The Rotary Club of Perry Township sponsors several awards to community members and businesses. 

 

GAETANO MATTIOLI CECCHINI HUMANITARIAN AWARD
Instilled in 2005, this award recognizes an individual or business that demonstrates a positive impact on the community of Perry Twp, has a commitment to social well-being, and promotes the Rotary ideal of Service Above Self.

 

Named after the first award winner, Gaetano "Guy" Mattioli Cecchini, the recipients receive a $500 reward to be given to a charitable organization of their choice. 

 

DR. JAMES L SYLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
This $1,000 scholarship award is given annually to a first-year student attending the College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University, Dr. Syler's alma mater. The award was established in October of 2006 in honor and memory of Dr. James L. Syler, who passed away on August 12, 2006.

 

Dr. Syler was a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Perry Township serving as the Club's first President. He was a Paul Harris Fellow and his many years of service and fellowship to the Club and to the Perry Twp Community exemplifed the object of Rotary. in 2005, this award recognizes an individual or business that demonstrates a positive impact on the community of Perry Township, has a commitment to social well-being, and promotes the Rotary ideal of Service Above Self.

OUTSTANDING SENIOR CITIZEN AWARD
Since 1996, the Perry Township Rotary has honored Perry senior citizen residents at an annual banquet in December. The award is given to those who unselfishly volunteer their time and talents to make our community an excellent place to live, work and play. 

 

PAUL STEINER VOCATIONAL SERVICE AWARD
Created in 2005, this award is given to an individual who demonstrates excellence in their vocation, has a visible impact on the community through their vocation, resides in Perry Township and exemplifies the Four Way Test:

Is it the Truth? Is it Fair to all concerned? Will it build Good Will and Better Friendships? Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

 

OUTSTANDING STUDENT AWARDS
Each year, the Rotary Club of Perry Township recognizes graduating students within our community at Central Catholic High School and Perry High School who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in a variety of areas. The awards banquet is held in May prior to graduation and each student is awarded a scholarship reward.
